It’s the true mark of an excellent short story author when, after reading those final words, you want to flip back to the first page just to scrutinize the clues: Mr. Michael Bussa exhibits an efficiency of prose in Splinter that not only conveys the nuts and bolts of the story but still generates ample emotion.
